Ethiopia, 20 November 2025- Trade relations between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia have recorded significant growth in recent years, despite the continued imbalance in the trade ledger between the two countries.
Speaking at the Ethiopia–Saudi Business Forum, Ambassador Dewano Kedir, Director-General for Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Affairs at Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the notable rise in bilateral trade since 2015.
According to the Ambassador, Ethiopian exports to Saudi Arabia have nearly doubled over the past decade — increasing from $197 million in 2015 to $406 million in 2024.
Meanwhile, Saudi exports to Ethiopia rose from $486 million to $912 million during the same period, reflecting expanding commercial activity on both sides.
