Djibouti (Dawan Africa) Djibouti’s President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh has appointed a new cabinet days after starting a new term, reshuffling key ministries.
The new government consists of 26 members, including Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed. The appointments include 6 new members, 9 officials reassigned to new posts, and 11 members who retained their positions or remained within the government.
The appointments notably feature officials who are joining the executive team for the first time, or are newly entering the government in this reshuffle. The new members include:
1. Hana Farah Assoweh — Minister of Women and Family
2. Dr Djama Mohamed Hassan — Minister of Energy, in charge of Natural Resources
3. Orbis Helaf Orbis — Minister of Trade and Tourism
4. Fardoussa Moussa Egueh — Minister of Youth and Culture
5. Omar Houssein Omar — Minister Delegate in charge of Decentralization
6. Fatouma Ali Abdallah — Secretary of State in charge of Sports
Ministers reassigned to new roles include:
1. Mouna Osman Aden — Minister of Health
2. Radwan Abdillahi Bahdon — Minister of Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, Livestock and Fisheries Resources
3. Mohamed Ahmed Awaleh — Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development
4. Mohamed Abdoulkader Moussa Helem — Minister of Communication, in charge of Posts and Telecommunications
5. Omar Abdi Said — Minister of Interior
6. Said Nouh Hassan — Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment
7. Yonis Ali Guedi — Minister of Labour, in charge of Formalization and Social Protection

The appointments show that President Guelleh sought to balance two priorities: political renewal and continuity in key pillars of the administration, particularly in security, the economy, diplomacy and public services.
