Djibouti, 21 January 2026 The Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority confirmed on Monday that it will host the 35th edition of “Intermodal Africa” from 10–12 February.
This international martime event is set to bring together more than 400 global decision-makers, including port engineers, shipping company executives, and logistics service providers, to participate in three days of high-level conferences and strategic discussions.
The conference aims to strengthen international cooperation and promote investment in infrastructure, while also highlighting Africa’s strategic importance in the global supply chain.

In addition to the main conference, the Authority announced that Djibouti will host the Eastern and Southern Africa Ports Management Association (PMAESA) Forum on 9 February. This technical forum will specifically focus on the Horn of Africa, seeking to advance regional dialogue and collaborative work among maritime stakeholders.
Key topics will include improving connectivity and accelerating technical cooperation along one of the world’s most important shipping routes.
Djibouti’s selection as the host of the 35th edition underscores its growing role as a central hub for goods transiting the East African region.
