Djibouti, 3 May 2026 Djibouti has been selected to host the 2028 Francophonie education ministers’ conference, state media reported.
The decision was made during the organisation’s 61st session held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from April 27 to May 1, according to the Djibouti News Agency (ADI).
Djibouti was chosen following a competitive selection process involving other candidate countries, including Romania and Gabon, ADI said.
Officials said the selection reflects member states’ confidence in Djibouti and recognition of its engagement in education development and Francophone cooperation.
