DJIBOUTI, 11 August 2026 – Djibouti police arrested a man accused of stabbing his girlfriend several times in the capital, state news agency ADI reported on Monday.
The incident occurred on the evening of July 28 near a bakery in the Hodan area, where the woman was found bleeding after suffering multiple stab wounds to her abdomen and back, ADI said.
She was taken to Cheiko Hospital and underwent surgery. She later recovered from the operation, according to the report.

Police from the Hodan station opened an investigation and arrested a young man who identified himself as the woman's boyfriend, ADI said.
The suspect admitted to the stabbing during questioning, according to the report. Investigators said the attack followed repeated death threats against the woman.
The suspect was presented to the prosecutor's office and subsequently placed in detention at Gabode prison, ADI said.
