Italy — October 15, 2025 — The Prime Minister of Djibouti, Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, has called for stronger international cooperation and investment to address climate change and ensure food security in the world.
Speaking at the World Food Forum held in Rome, Prime Minister Abdoulkader urged nations to strengthen cooperation in addressing climate change, which poses a significant threat to global food production.
He highlighted Djibouti’s ongoing efforts to strengthen food security, combat climate change, and develop agriculture and fisheries sectors.
During the forum, the Prime Minister participated in a high-level session that focused on climate change and its impacts on agriculture and fisheries. He outlined measures Djibouti has implemented to tackle climate challenges and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector to promote food security and economic development.
Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed also met with FAO Director-General Dr Qu Dongyu. The Djiboutian delegation included the Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock, and Marine Resources, the Minister of Social Affairs, and Djibouti’s Ambassador to FAO.
Organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Food Forum brought together global leaders, ministers, and representatives from various countries.
