Djibouti, 30 September 2025 – Djibouti’s armed forces have inaugurated their first military school dedicated to the training of deputy officers, in what officials described as a key step in modernising the country’s security sector, state broadcaster Radio Télévision Djibouti (RTD) reported.
The opening ceremony, held Monday in Holhol, was presided over by Chief of Staff General Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim and attended by senior police and security officials.
The new academy, named after former President, Hassan Gouled , will offer specialised programmes designed for deputy officers, covering essential security and operational skills.
Its curriculum aims to strengthen professional standards and raise the capacity of Djibouti’s forces.
The first class comprises 307 cadets, including 47 women, who will begin regular training at the facility.
Military officials said the school reflects Djibouti’s broader push to build a professional and well-trained security force capable of ensuring stability and addressing the country’s growing security needs.
