Rwanda, 24 July 2026 - Gor Mahia produced one of the most memorable performances in recent club history after thrashing Rwandan champions APR FC 5-0 in the opening match of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

Playing away from home against one of East Africa's strongest clubs, K'Ogalo delivered a ruthless attacking display in front of a packed home crowd that included Rwanda President Paul Kagame, the tournament's long-time patron. The emphatic victory immediately established the Kenyan giants as early favorites to win the regional championship.
