Kenya, August 7,2026 - Several students from the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) are feared dead after a bus carrying them was involved in a devastating road accident along the Kisumu-Awasi Highway on Friday afternoon.
The students were reportedly travelling to Kisumu County to attend the burial of former student leader Elvis Otieno, popularly known as 'Beast', when the bus is said to have lost control and overturned.
Witnesses said the crash left several passengers trapped inside the wreckage, while many others sustained injuries.
Emergency responders, police officers and members of the public rushed to the scene to rescue survivors and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
