CAIRO, Egypt (Dawan) – Arab parliamentary leaders on Saturday condemned Israeli attacks in Lebanon and Syria, and rejected Israel’s interference in Somalia’s affairs.
The conference, organized by the Arab Parliament and the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, emphasized the unity of the Arab parliamentary stance on challenges facing the Arab world. Leaders reaffirmed their support for efforts to preserve the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Arab states.
A specific resolution was adopted to confront Israeli policies targeting the Palestinian cause, reaffirming full support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and asserting that Palestine remains the “central cause of the Arab nation.”

Another resolution explicitly condemned Israeli interference in Somalia, Lebanon, and Syria, while emphasizing support for the sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity of those countries. Somalia viewed this as an opportunity to highlight its commitment to political independence and regional order.
Somalia participated in the conference, with a delegation from the Upper House attending alongside heads of Arab legislative bodies.
The Arab Parliament includes representatives from legislative bodies across member states of the Arab League. The resolutions adopted at the conference will be forwarded to the heads of Arab states for consideration at the upcoming Arab League Summit.
