ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (Dawan) – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Tuesday dismissed concerns over a purported alliance between Eritrea, the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), and Sudan, saying Ethiopia faces no threat to its sovereignty, according to Sudan Tribune.
Speaking at the Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representatives, Abiy underscored that the federal government is actively strengthening the country’s defence capabilities. “Let it be Eritrea, the TPLF, or Sudan even if other actors join, Ethiopia has zero fear regarding its sovereignty,” he said.

Analysts in the region had reported the emergence of a strategic alignment among the three forces, drawing comparisons to the 1991 coalition that led to the fall of Ethiopia’s Derg regime. Abiy, however, insisted that a similar outcome cannot occur today.
He also alluded to unnamed parties behind the alleged coalition but did not provide specific identities. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Ethiopia’s readiness to safeguard its national unity and independence.
