Kenya, 10 April 2026 - Wajir County is set to participate in the 11th edition of the Kenya Youth Inter-County Sports Association (KYISA) Games.
In preparation for the games, the County Executive Committee Member for Education, Social Welfare and Family Affairs, Prof Yakub Mumin Dahiye, together with the Chief Officer for Youth, Sports and Talent, Adenweli Hanshi, on Friday flagged off the Wajir County soccer team at the Department of Education offices.
The team is scheduled to compete in the 11th edition of the KYISA Games, which will take place from 10 April to 19 April 2026 in Laikipia County.
The Wajir team is expected to depart Friday evening.
While addressing the team during the flag-off ceremony, Prof Dahiye assured them of his full support and urged them to build on last year’s commendable performance by aiming to win the top prize.

The KYISA Games, held under the theme “Unearthing Talents,” will officially kick off on Monday, with the opening match set to be played at Nyahururu Stadium in Nyahururu Town.
