Somalia, 4 June 2026 – The United Kingdom said it was deeply concerned by the overnight violence in Mogadishu and called on all Somali parties to exercise restraint.
In a statement posted by the UK Embassy in Somalia, Britain said violence was unacceptable and urged all sides to resolve tensions through dialogue.
“The UK is deeply concerned by reports of violence in Mogadishu overnight,” the embassy said.

“Violence is unacceptable and we call on all parties to exercise restraint and engage in inclusive, constructive dialogue to resolve tensions peacefully,” it added.
The statement comes amid rising tensions in Mogadishu, where the federal government and opposition figures have exchanged accusations following armed clashes in the capital.
