13 January 2026 - The Ugas Gulled Council of Elders has unanimously endorsed Abdirahman Adan Abdikadir, popularly known as Adow Jua, as the preferred and sole candidate of the Ugas Gulled sub-clan for the Wajir South Member of Parliament seat in the 2027 General Election.
Adow Jua, a respected humanitarian and community leader, has earned widespread admiration for his longstanding service in humanitarian affairs, peacebuilding, and social development.
His consistent efforts to uplift vulnerable communities have won him the hearts and trust of residents across Wajir County and the wider North Eastern region of Kenya.
The elders’ decision reflects a collective confidence in his integrity, vision, and proven commitment to public service.
Following a transparent internal vetting process, the candidate selection committee, by an overwhelming majority vote, resolved that Adow Jua be the community’s flagbearer for Wajir South in 2027.
Consequently, the elders agreed that this election cycle should usher in new leadership, grounded in grassroots service and a unifying vision for the constituency.

"The devastating effects of the drought continue to be experienced in this region. If elected I am going to ensure that collaborative efforts are put in place to protect people and livestock,” Adow said.
As the drought situation continues to worsen, he urged both the county government and national government to put more effort on helping the pastoralists who are facing the biting of this prolonged season.
“I once again appreciate and thank my community for trusting me into this role of racing the parliamentary seat of Wajir South in 2027 and I promise to bring victory home," he exuded confidence.
The Ugas Gulled elders are expected to forward Adow to the next table, which is the larger Mohamed Zubeir sub-clan, with the next round endorsement expected to come earlier before the 2027 elections.
