Bari Region, Puntland (Dawan Africa) – Nearly 500 police officers have graduated from an eight-month training program at the Police Training Academy in Carmo, Bari region, with support from the United Arab Emirates.
Authorities in Puntland said the officers were selected based on higher education qualifications and represent the eighth cohort to complete training at the Carmo academy since its establishment.

During the graduation ceremony on Saturday, Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni praised the UAE’s assistance.
“We thank the UAE for accepting to support us in this training,” President Deni said.
He emphasized that the training is part of Puntland’s broader efforts to professionalize and strengthen its security forces, at a time when the region is facing persistent threats from insecurity and ISIS-linked militants in Bari.
The event was attended by Puntland officials, members of parliament, traditional elders, senior police officers, and residents of Carmo town.
