Kenya, December 14 2025 - Tusker FC produced a composed and professional performance to defeat Sofapaka 2–0, a result that saw the Brewers move level on points with FKF Premier League leaders Police FC, although remaining second due to an inferior goal difference.
Coming into the fixture knowing the importance of maximum points in the title race, Tusker wasted no time in asserting themselves. From the opening whistle, the Brewers dominated possession and dictated the tempo, forcing Sofapaka to spend long spells defending deep in their own half.
Tusker’s attacking intent was evident early on, as they created several promising chances through quick build-up play and intelligent movement in the final third.
Despite their dominance, the visitors were unable to find a breakthrough in the first half. Sofapaka’s defence remained resilient, with last-ditch tackles and timely clearances frustrating Tusker’s forwards.
The home side also tried to hit on the counter, but lacked the composure needed to seriously trouble the Tusker backline. As a result, the teams went into the halftime break deadlocked at 0–0.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Tusker continuing to apply pressure while Sofapaka looked to stay compact and absorb attacks. The breakthrough finally arrived in the 70th minute when Tusker capitalised on a defensive lapse from Sofapaka.

Poor coordination at the back allowed the Brewers to pounce and calmly slot home, breaking the deadlock and shifting the momentum firmly in their favour.
Sofapaka responded by pushing forward in search of an equaliser and created a few half-chances, but their finishing let them down at crucial moments. Tusker’s defence remained disciplined, limiting clear opportunities and regaining control whenever Sofapaka threatened.
Eight minutes later, Tusker effectively sealed the contest with a second goal, once again exploiting gaps left by Sofapaka as they committed numbers forward. The goal dealt a significant psychological blow to the hosts and put the result beyond doubt.
Both sides continued to look for another goal in the closing stages, but neither was able to add to the scoreline as defences held firm.
The victory strengthens Tusker FC’s title ambitions, keeping them firmly in the hunt at the summit of the table. For Sofapaka, however, the defeat deepens their struggles, leaving them hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone with just 12 points from 13 matches.
