Mogadishu, 5 September 2026 Turkey has launched a dialysis support project that will initially benefit 300 Somalis, the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu said.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony at the embassy Thursday, attended by Somalia's Health Minister Ali Haji Adam, the embassy said.
The initiative brings together the Turkish Red Crescent, the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Training and Research Hospital in Mogadishu and IBS Bank. Under the first phase, selected patients will receive free dialysis services and monthly financial support, IBS Bank said.

The project was designed and implemented by the three Turkish-linked institutions in coordination with Somalia's Ministry of Health, according to the embassy and the bank.
IBS Bank said it was pleased to take part in efforts to support public health in Somalia.
