April 5, 2026 - Health Cabinet secretary Aden Duale has said that nobody has the monopoly to use ‘Tuko Kadi’ for his own political advantage and it cuts across. Speaking in Garissa during the graduation ceremony for Madrasa Khadija bint Khuwayled, the CS cautioned politicians against using the slang to their own advantage saying it belongs to everyone irrespective of political divide and geographical locations.
The ‘Tuko Kadi’ slang has popularly been used through social media in a bid to mobilize youth to register as voters. “And this Tuko kadi is across political and all regions, nobody should use it for his own political advantage,” he said.
The CS urge Kenyans to register as voters en masse saying its for the future for the country as well its democracy. Duale also said he is going to take the Interior CS over complaints of delayed Identity cards in Garissa noting that there are more than 1million residents in the region who are yet to register as voters.
“I really want to urge all Kenyans to go and register as enmass it's about the future and democracy of our country,” he said.
The former vocal lawmaker also asked residents to take advantage of the social health authority saying it is anchored under a robust technology and digital system that detects patients, doctors facilities and the whole structure of the health system.

He said that they have reduced fraud from over 36 percent to about 6percent. “If you are a medic, hospital owner, patient and you were involved in fraud we will get you, the government will take all necessary action to make sure that that universal health coverage succeeds,” he said.
The CS also took issue with political leaders faulting President Ruto’s administration saying he has done a lot for the country that his predecessor could not do. Duale mentioned Universal health coverage, affordable housing, the building of stadiums, transforming agriculture, employing over 116, 000, stabilizing the economy amongst others.
The CS said President Ruto’s competitors have no agenda but just ‘one term, he noted that they are fighting him for what he said developing the country and uniting Kenyans.
