United States, 10 December 2025 — U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a series of remarks sharply criticizing Somali immigrants and Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) during a rally in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, drawing renewed attention to his rhetoric toward immigrant communities.
Throughout his speech, Trump repeatedly referenced Somalia while discussing immigration, describing the country as “filthy, dirty, disgusting” and “a disaster.” At one point, he said, “The only thing they’re good at is going after ships,” adding, “But they don’t go after our ships… because that same missile knocks the crap out of them.”
Trump also directed personal attacks toward Rep. Omar, telling the crowd: “I love this. Ilhan Omar… she comes in, does nothing but bitch. She’s always complaining.” He went on to depict Somalia as lacking functioning institutions, claiming it has “no military,” “no police,” and “no parliament.”

Turning to Somali communities in Minnesota, Trump alleged that they “hate our country” and accused Somali immigrants of stealing “billions of dollars,” offering no evidence for the claim. He described Minnesota as the “Great Big Minnesota scam” and blamed state leadership for allowing what he characterized as widespread fraud.
Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing national debate over immigration and refugee resettlement policies and follow previous statements in which he has used similarly charged language about Somali immigrants and other minority groups.
In recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly made similar remarks insulting Somalis, frequently reiterating accusations and derogatory claims.
