UK, August 31 ,2026 - Tottenham Hotspur are exploring a late move for Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo, while Mykhailo Mudryk has also emerged as a potential loan option as Roberto De Zerbi's side continue reshaping their squad before the transfer deadline.
However, the two situations should currently be treated differently. Tosin's move to Tottenham is a concrete possibility, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Spurs are working on a deal for the centre-back if Kevin Danso leaves the club. Chelsea are also understood to be open to Adarabioyo's departure, with talks underway.
The interest in Tosin is closely connected to Tottenham's defensive situation. Danso has told De Zerbi that he wants to leave Spurs, with Sunderland among the clubs pursuing him. Should the Austrian defender depart, Tottenham would need another experienced centre-back, making Adarabioyo an attractive option.
Adarabioyo, 28, joined Chelsea from Fulham in 2024 and has found himself further down the defensive pecking order following Chelsea's recruitment. He has yet to feature for Xabi Alonso's team this season, increasing the possibility of a late exit.
Mudryk's situation is less advanced.Romano has confirmed that the Ukrainian winger is expected to leave Chelsea before the deadline on loan, with Leeds United pushing for his signature and other possibilities still open. Mudryk reportedly wants to remain in the Premier League.

There is currently no reliable confirmation of a completed agreement between Tottenham and Chelsea for Mudryk, so reports describing a Spurs double loan should not be presented as a done deal.
The potential connection is nevertheless intriguing. Mudryk has returned to Chelsea's first-team environment after his lengthy absence and is looking for regular football, while De Zerbi has previously been associated with appreciation for the winger's qualities.
For Tottenham, the immediate priority appears to be defensive cover if Danso leaves. Mudryk could represent an additional opportunity rather than a guaranteed component of the same deal.
With the deadline approaching, however, the situation could develop rapidly. Tosin-to-Spurs is genuinely being worked on; Mudryk-to-Spurs remains a possibility rather than an agreed transfer.
