Mogadishu, 25 August 2026 Thousands of people marched through Mogadishu on Tuesday to mark the birth of Prophet Mohamed.
Crowds gathered in mosques, public squares and at Daljirka Dahsoon Square, carrying flags bearing the Prophet's name, reciting the Qur'an and singing religious poetry.
Mawlid is a public holiday in Somalia, marked with large gatherings by Sufi orders including the Qadiriyya, Ahmadiyya and Salihiyya.
