Mogadishu, (Dawan Africa) Somalia's Supreme Court ratified the May 10 results for South West State’s local council and assembly elections.
A statement from the Supreme Court noted that the judges held multiple sessions to review requests from the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission seeking formal validation of the election outcomes in South West State.
After careful evaluation, the court decided to officially endorse the election results, the statement added.

The elections were held on May 10, across 13 districts in the regions of Bay, Bakool, and Lower Shabelle, with a total of 132,430 voters casting their vote.
Justice & Solidarity Party (JSP) secured 53 seats, the highest of any party, making it the leading force in the new assembly.
