Mogadishu, 20 August 2026 — South West State Leader Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur ‘Madoobe’ held a dinner meeting in Mogadishu on Wednesday evening with federal lawmakers from South West State, the regional administration said.
The meeting brought together Speaker of the House of the People Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur ‘Jama’, Second Deputy Speaker Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, Deputy Prime Minister Jibril Abdirashid Haji, ministers, and members of both houses of parliament.
Discussions focused on the overall situation in South West State, with particular attention to security, stability and recent developments in Baidoa.

Officials also addressed ways to strengthen peace and cooperation among stakeholders, and to improve public services and governance in the state.
Madoobe stressed the need for unity among South West State officials and politicians to advance peace, stability and the interests of the people.
The meeting comes days after armed clashes in Baidoa heightened concerns over security and the political situation in the city.
