Somalia, 25 November 2025 – Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi ‘Irro’, held separate meetings on Monday with the British Ambassador to Somalia, Charles King, and a delegation led by the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Francesca Di Mauro.
According to Somaliland officials, President Irro briefed the envoys on his administration’s efforts to maintain stability, including the regulation and demobilization of civil forces and peace initiatives in El Afweyn and the Erigavo peace forum.

President Irro emphasized Somaliland’s commitment to democratic governance, social cohesion, and promoting private-sector investment, highlighting the importance of international support in advancing security and economic development.
Neither the UK nor the EU has issued an official statement regarding the meetings. Ambassador Francesca Di Mauro’s visit comes as part of a regional tour to Somalia, including federal member states, conducted in recent weeks.
