MOGADISHU (Dawan), 12 August 2026 – Somalia’s Minister of Public Works Ayub Ismail Yusuf met with businesspeople and investors from Türkiye, Djibouti and Sudan to discuss investment opportunities, the ministry said.
The meeting, which was also attended by Djibouti’s Ambassador to Somalia Osman Dubad Sugulle, focused on investment opportunities in housing and other development initiatives.
Minister Ayub briefed the investors on opportunities available in Somalia, saying the ministry is encouraging investment in the construction of affordable homes for Somali families.

He added that the ministry is ready to facilitate the regulations, procedures and necessary services required for investors to implement housing and construction projects in Somalia.
The investors said their visit was aimed at assessing investment opportunities in the country, particularly projects related to housing, hospitals, schools and other social services.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing readiness to strengthen cooperation and support projects that could contribute to addressing Somalia’s growing demand for housing and infrastructure development.
