Ethiopia — June 28, 2026 Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Addis Ababa for a working visit aimed at strengthening relations between Somalia and Ethiopia.
The President travelled to Ethiopia after visiting Djibouti on June 26, as part of a regional tour focused on diplomatic engagement with neighbouring countries.
According to Somalia’s presidency, the Addis Ababa visit is centred on deepening diplomatic relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on security, regional stability and shared interests.

During his stay, President Mohamud is expected to meet Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and other senior officials.
The visit comes as Somalia and Ethiopia continue efforts to enhance coordination on regional security and address common challenges facing the Horn of Africa.
