Mogadishu (Dawan Africa) – Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdisaalam Abdi Ali received the diplomatic credentials of Djibouti’s new Ambassador Col. Osman Doubad Sougouleh in Mogadishu.
The two officials also discussed strengthening bilateral relations, regional stability and shared interests in the Horn of Africa.
Somalia and Djibouti have long-standing relations rooted in neighbourliness, shared culture and political cooperation. Djibouti has played an important role in supporting Somalia’s state-building efforts and regional security operations, including through its participation in the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia.

The appointment of the new ambassador comes as the two countries continue efforts to further strengthen their diplomatic relations and cooperation in security, the economy, people-to-people movement and regional affairs.
Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the meeting reflected the commitment of both governments to further consolidating the brotherly relations and strategic cooperation between Somalia and Djibouti.
