Somalia, 25 April 2026 Somalia's electoral commission began training poll workers in Hudur, Bakool’s capital, ahead of local elections.
The training focuses on voter registration procedures and polling station management to ensure transparency of the electoral process.
The Commission said the training will enhance the capacity of election personnel to ensure the elections are conducted in a free and fair manner.

Officials also noted that improving the knowledge and skills of election workers plays a critical role in building public confidence in the electoral system, particularly in regions outside the capital.
The training in Hudur comes as Somalia continues to prepare for direct elections in several regions, with similar programs expected to be rolled out in other parts of the country.
