Somalia, 22 July 2026 – The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) has postponed Galmudug State elections from 25 July 2026 to 30 July 2026.
The commission stated that the decision followed requests and recommendations from participating political parties, allowing them sufficient time to prepare and coordinate electoral activities.
“Recognizing that political parties are the backbone of implementing an inclusive and credible election, the commission has decided to postpone the voting,” the commission said in a statement.
