Somalia, 21 July 2026 – Somalia’s electoral commission announced more than 200 polling stations for elections in Galmudug State scheduled for July 20, saying the locations will ensure a free, fair and transparent vote in line with the constitution and national election laws.
According to the commission, the polling stations were strategically planned to guarantee an organized voting process, allowing citizens to cast their ballots safely. Many centres are located across the Adado district and surrounding villages, providing accessible locations for voters and ensuring credible elections.
The commission emphasized that only authorized officials may release official results or election information, warning that any unauthorized publication will face legal action.

It also highlighted that the commission oversees vote counting and coordination at each polling centre to guarantee that preliminary results are announced according to election regulations, ensuring transparency and public confidence in the process.
The commission confirmed that all logistical preparations, including staffing, security coordination, and materials, are in place for the smooth execution of the Galmudug elections, marking a critical step in Somalia’s ongoing democratic transition.
