Somalia, 9 April 2026 – The National Election and Boundaries Commission delivered voter registration materials to Qansah Dheere district in Bay region on Wednesday, supporting the upcoming regional elections.
The materials include voter cards and other registration tools needed in the exercise.
Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed, a representative of the election commission in Qansah Dheere, told the media that training will be provided to the staff and the registration committee in the district to ensure the registration process runs smoothly.
“The efforts of the Federal Government of Somalia and the National Election Commission aim to ensure that all voters in Qansah Dheere are registered for the election with ease,” said Ahmed.

The Deputy Mayor of Qansah Dheere, Siraaji Hassan Abdi, urged residents to fully participate in the voter registration process.
“It is important that we all participate in the election so that we can express our voices for the future of the country,” said Siraaji.
The commission had previously delivered similar election materials to other districts in the Bay region, with hopes of ensuring the voter registration process runs smoothly across South West Somalia.
