Somalia, 9 April 2026 Somalia’s Interior Minister, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, and Switzerland’s ambassador to Somalia, Mirko Giulietti, held talks in Mogadishu on Wednesday to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.
The ministry said the officials discussed counterterrorism efforts and agreed on the importance of intelligence sharing, security force training and technical support to address security threats.

Fartaag expressed appreciation for Switzerland’s support to Somalia, saying the partnership would play a key role in advancing the country’s security and development.
The Swiss ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continued support for Somalia and stressed the need for sustained and close cooperation to achieve long-term progress.
