Oman, 26 April 2026 Somalia seeks Omani investment in fisheries, aviation and livestock after senior officials met in Muscat, the foreign ministry said.
The discussions took place Sunday between Somalia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali, and Oman Investment Authority Chairman, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al-Murshidi.
A statement from the ministry said the talks focused on unlocking Omani investment in blue economy, agriculture and aviation, as well as creating conditions for public–private partnerships.

Both sides explored practical steps to advance structured investment engagement, including facilitating joint ventures and strengthening cooperation between public institutions and private investors.
Somalia highlighted its strategic position linking Africa and the Gulf and its potential to attract foreign investment as part of broader economic reforms.
The statement added that the meeting reflected Somalia’s efforts to use economic diplomacy to drive growth and translate international partnerships into investment outcomes.
