Somalia, 21 April,226 Somalia and the Netherlands discussed boosting security and economic ties, focusing on development, the foreign ministry Monday.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hasan Mohamed Ali met with the Netherlands’ ambassador to Somalia, Henk Jan Bakker, and other senior Dutch officials, during talks held in Mogadishu.
The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation in agriculture, water management, food security and health systems, where Dutch expertise plays a significant role, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The deputy minister highlighted the importance of sustained international partnerships to reinforce security and support economic growth, as Somalia continues efforts to stabilize governance and rebuild key institutions.
Both sides expressed commitment to advancing practical cooperation aimed at delivering tangible results and supporting Somalia’s development trajectory, the ministry said.
