Mogadishu, 26 August 2026 – Somalia's State Minister for Family and Human Rights Development Mohamed Osman Nastaro on Tuesday launched a project to support orphan care centres in Mogadishu.
The project is implemented by the King Salman Centre and Mahasin Foundation and focuses on meeting essential needs and renovating facilities for orphaned children, the ministry said.

The ministry added that the initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen child protection and support for vulnerable groups.
It highlighted the importance of cooperation between government, humanitarian organisations and other partners to expand child welfare services.
