Mogadishu, 8 September 2026 Somalia launched a digital system to monitor implementation of its National Transformation Plan, the Ministry of Planning said on Tuesday.
The launch brought together representatives from federal member states, directors general of federal ministries and senior officials.
The system is designed to create a unified monitoring framework for all 26 federal ministries, enabling institutions to share information, measure progress and improve coordination, the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the National Transformation Plan has already reviewed 153 development projects funded by international partners in recent years. Officials say the new system will expand oversight to include a broader range of government programmes.

Planning Minister Mahmoud Abdirahman Beenebeene said the platform is the result of nearly a year of technical preparation.
"Today we are launching a digital system that will monitor projects being implemented across the country. Every project will be assessed against clear performance indicators, strengthening accountability and improving public sector performance," he said.
Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama, who inaugurated the programme, said Somalia continues to face poverty and unemployment, stressing that effective planning and evidence-based evaluation are essential for sustainable development.
The National Transformation Plan replaced Somalia's previous National Development Plans and serves as the government's long-term roadmap toward building a peaceful, democratic and economically prosperous nation, the ministry said.
