Somalia August 27, 2026 The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) repatriated 154 Somali refugees from Yemen to Somalia through Aden International Airport, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as part of a humanitarian protection and assistance project aimed at supporting refugees and affected communities, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
SPA reported that UNHCR Representative in Yemen, Armin Yedgarian, expressed his appreciation to KSrelief for its efforts to facilitate and ensure the voluntary return of Somali refugees to their home country.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni organization Sonaa Al-Nahda said in a post on its official Facebook page that it supported the return process by registering beneficiaries, verifying their documents, and providing pre-departure awareness, as well as transporting the returnees and their luggage to the airport.

The organization added that Human Access conducted medical examinations for the returnees before their departure from Yemen.
A statement from Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this was the second such return operation in August, following the return of 155 Somali refugees from Yemen on August 5, bringing the total number of returnees from the two operations to 309.
