MOGADISHU (Dawan) – Somalia’s Ministry of Interior has issued a stern warning against activities inciting conflict and disrupting security and social cohesion in parts of Lower Shabelle.
The Ministry emphasized that such actions pose a serious threat to peace, community unity, and the country’s reconciliation process.
“Any act that fosters division, hatred, or confrontation within communities endangers peace, social cohesion, and ongoing reconciliation efforts,” the Ministry said in a statement.

Authorities also cautioned individuals, groups, and anyone spreading false information or organizing unrest against exploiting the region’s vulnerabilities. The Ministry highlighted the risk posed by extremists and agitators attempting to use fragile situations to advance agendas that could endanger life, property, national security, and stability.
The Ministry praised security and law enforcement agencies for strengthening preventative measures and acting in accordance with the law to counter any attempts to escalate tensions.
The Ministry called on all local administrations, elders, religious leaders, women, youth, and civil society members to take a proactive role in reducing tensions, fostering dialogue, and promoting consensus within communities.
