MOGADISHU, Somalia (Dawan Africa) – Somalia’s Ministry of Defence said on Friday it had detained individuals seen in a video circulating on social media showing people wearing Somali military uniforms engaging in what it described as unacceptable conduct involving the flag of the United States.
In a statement, the ministry said the behaviour was inconsistent with the values, discipline and professionalism of the Somali National Army and did not represent the position of either the Ministry of Defence or the Federal Government of Somalia.
The ministry said an investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine appropriate disciplinary and legal action against those involved.
