Somalia, 12 September 2025 – Somalia’s cabinet has strongly condemned the Israeli airstrike on Qatar, on Tuesday citing a breach of sovereignty and disregard of international law.
The airstrike targeted Leqtaifiya district in the Qatari capital, Doha, where Hamas leaders were meeting.
In a statement, the cabinet said, Somalia stood in solidarity with the government and people of Qatar,
rejecting actions that contravene international laws and conventions.
“Somalia strongly condemns the attack by Israel on Qatar, carried out in Doha,” the statement said.
Somalia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs had earlier condemned the attack, terming it an act of aggression.
The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.
Somalia joins the list of United Nations member states that have condemned Israel's action against a sovereign state.
