Somalia, July 8, 2026 – Somalia’s cabinet has approved memorandums of understanding with Turkmenistan and India aimed at expanding diplomatic and sectoral cooperation, the Office of the Prime Minister said.
The cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between Somalia and Turkmenistan on political consultations, as well as a similar agreement with India focused on strengthening political dialogue between the two countries.

The agreements are expected to provide a framework for regular consultations between Somali officials and their counterparts in the two countries on issues of mutual interest.
The approvals come as Somalia seeks to expand international partnerships across diplomatic, economic and infrastructure sectors.
