Mogadishu, 26 August 2026 — President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Tuesday received the United Kingdom's Minister of State for International Development and Africa Kirsty McNeill at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, Villa Somalia said.
According to Villa Somalia, the talks focused on shared priorities, areas of mutual interest and opportunities to advance cooperation.
President Hassan Sheikh said the UK is one of Somalia's key international partners and underscored the importance of the partnership.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation and strengthen the longstanding relationship.
Villa Somalia said the Somali government and people value the UK's role in supporting Somalia's progress and development.
The UK has been a key supporter of Somalia's state-building and humanitarian response.
