BAAREY (Dawan) — Ethiopia’s Somali region launched a $2.284 million water project in Afdheer region’s Baarey district, SRTV Somali reported.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials including Water Bureau Minister Eng. Ahmed Miraad Layli, Finance Bureau Minister Dayib Ahmednur, and Justice Bureau Minister Mohamednaaji Mohamed.
Representatives from UNICEF, regional and district authorities, and community members also attended the event.

Officials said the new project is expected to significantly improve access to clean water in Baarey district and forms part of development programmes being implemented across the region.
They also urged residents to protect and maintain the newly established infrastructure, stressing the importance of sustaining development projects across the area.
