Ethiopia, 25 April 2026 Ethiopia’s Somali region is certifying 1,084 skilled workers at a vocational training college in Moyale, regional broadcaster SRTV reported Friday.
The exams, part of the Certificate of Competency (CoC) programme, are being held at the College of Technical and Vocational Skills and aim to verify the qualifications of trainees across multiple fields, according to SRTV.
The candidates include graduates of both long-term and short-term training programmes in sectors such as health, livestock production, crop farming and irrigation, the report said.
Additional assessments are being carried out in telecommunications, beauty services, garment production, and accounting and finance, SRTV reported.

Officials from the certification agency said the exams are intended to ensure that graduates meet required standards and are equipped for the labour market.
Authorities say the initiative forms part of efforts to enhance workforce quality and support economic development in the region.
