Somalia, 1 January 2026 The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, arrived today in Dhusamareb, the capital of the Galmudug State, where he will participate in the Heritage Forum.
This year's gathering will address political issues, security, and the rebuilding of Somali government institutions.
Hamza will deliver a speech at the forum, outlining the government's plans regarding the topics being discussed. The forum is significant, as it will bring together both the opposition and government members in one space, a rare occurrence in the current tense political environment.

The Somali government delegation in Dhusamareb is headed by the Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Madobe, and the Minister of Justice, Hassan Moalim Mohamud.
During his stay in Dhusamareb, Prime Minister Hamza will meet with the leadership of Galmudug and other community members to listen to their views and suggestions regarding peace, development, and national unity, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's office.
