DHUSAMAREB (Dawan) – August 15, 2026 – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has named a development project implemented in Dhusamareb after Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor, describing it as part of efforts to improve public services and infrastructure in the state.
Speaking at an event in Dhusamareb, President Hassan Sheikh said the project reflects ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s development and provide services needed by the local community.
The president said the newly developed facility would become one of the landmark sites in Dhusamareb and suggested naming it after Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor in recognition of the development achieved during his tenure.

“I would like this school to be named after President Ahmed Abdi Karie, as he is the leader who had the opportunity to oversee this development during his tenure,” Hassan Sheikh said.
The president said national progress depends on the efforts of leaders and communities, urging future officials to continue implementing development projects that benefit citizens.
Hassan Sheikh also highlighted the importance of building cities with modern services and infrastructure that support social and economic development.
