Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud welcomed General Michael E. Langley, Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), in Mogadishu to discuss bolstering the Somalia-U.S. security partnership.
The meeting centered on advancing joint counter-terrorism efforts, particularly in combating Al-Shabaab according to Villa Somalia yesterday.

The United States reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Somalia’s efforts to eliminate terrorism, notably through training approximately 1,000 elite Danab forces and executing targeted airstrikes.
However, there has been a recent decline in such operations due to concerns raised by rights groups over civilian casualties.
