MOGADISHU, Oct. 7, 2026 Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre laid foundation stones for a peace centre and a school for children orphaned by conflict in Balanballe, following a peace agreement between two clans, state television reported on Tuesday.

Traditional leaders Ugas Hassan and Ugas Mohamed signed the agreement on Monday in the presence of 52 elders representing the two clans, the broadcaster said.
