Mogadishu, 27 August 2026 - Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre departed for Qatar on Wednesday for an official visit at the invitation of the Qatari government.
The visit will focus on strengthening strategic relations, particularly economic cooperation, investment and social development, the Prime Minister's Office said.
During his stay, Hamza is expected to hold talks with senior Qatari officials.

Qatar is among Arab states maintaining close relations with Somalia, with cooperation expanding in recent years across development, investment and support for the Somali government.
The visit comes as Somalia seeks to attract foreign investment.
Qatar has funded infrastructure and humanitarian projects in Somalia in recent years.
