MOGADISHU (Dawan), August 29, 2026 – Somalia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation on Saturday announced RAAS Agribusiness Solution and Baadi Goob AgroLink as the winners of the Open Innovation Challenge for Women Farmers’ Market Access, which the Ministry described as the first competition of its kind in the country.
The announcement ceremony was attended by Somalia’s Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Mohamed Abdi Hayir Maareeye, and IFAD Regional Director for the Near East, North Africa, Europe and Central Asia, Naoufel Telahigue.
The two companies were selected following a year-long competitive process involving 10 other companies.

The Ministry said the winners will receive a combined financial support package of $40,000 to expand and further develop the business solutions they presented through the challenge.
The winning solutions focus on addressing challenges in agricultural marketing, strengthening links between farmers and markets, and expanding the role of Somali women farmers in the growth of the country’s agricultural economy.
